English projects

for primary schools

ARTED NET understands the necessity to make theatre and drama more available for children in primary schools. Thus, we present to you two options:

Bard and Troubadour

Bard & Troubadour are a Sussex based performance troupe. We offer services in storytelling, theatre in education, workshops, poetry & song, team building, creative writing and errantry.

More information:

option 1 - performance

Award-winning performers Bard & Troubadour bring the classic Hans Christian Anderson tale of Thumbelina to life with song, puppetry – and plenty of audience participation!

Sing, croak, and squeak along in this show for the young and young-at-heart. Meet our pint-sized heroine, a dastardly frog, a miserly mole, and a heroic swallow on the way!

Grab your boots and join Jack and his wily cat Puss on a quest to defeat an evil ogre and win the hand of Jack's true love, Princess Joy.

Award-winning storytellers Bard & Troubadour return with a whirlwind two-man version of this fantastic feline fable.

option 2 - workshops

Session duration: 50  min to 1 hour.

For the younger children, we will approach English language through games, songs and children's literature (Beatrix Potter, JK Rowling...).

We focus on role playing, music and daily routine mise en situation. It is possible to work on a topic previously discussed with teachers.

For the older children, we will approach Shakespeare in a simplified English language. This will allow them to discover the main themes of the plays while working on stimulating language.

It is also possible to create and co-create a performance (or a short scene) with our actors.

- speaking: we aim to empower children and to allow them to feel confident when speaking in English (we use simple texts and songs)
acting: improvisation in English language
- listening: song, music, cartoons, films
- mise en situation with all students on a topic chosen with teachers

Theatre du Heron

Workshops are created by Gaspard Legendre (Theatre du Heron)
